Bittersweet

A Poem by Diamond in the rough
"

This poem was inspired by an emotional breakup with my first love. It talks about how amazing and painful love can be.

"
In the beginning, everything is exciting and beautiful. Falling in love is the easy part, trying not to love you is torturous.

When it turns bad it tears your heart to shreds and you find yourself praying to God to give you the strength to stay, or to help you leave.

Love makes you weak. Vulnerable. Blind. It robs you of your hope, your pride. It leaves you laying there helpless and alone, breathless.

In the beginning, everything is wild and wonderful. Loving you is an escape. Your presence is ecstasy,it held me in captivity.

Love rips you apart from the inside. It takes you by surprise and leads you down a path of silent loneliness and heartache.

Love will hi-jack your heart and soul, forcing you to give in. It takes control. You're powerless.

In the end, nothing makes sense anymore, Love scars and torments you. Gravity pulls you down in agony but love lifts you into a light and brings you to bliss.

Love is beautiful and deadly, kind and cruel. It's sincere and deceptive, tender and merciless. Tragic and pleasant, bittersweet.
