to a void

to a void

A Poem by Sora Kim

Falling
Down to a void
Maybe to land on a beach someplace
Deep in the sand.
Lost in the sand.
Lost in a space.

Body becoming limp
Accepting the void.
Surrendering to the darkness
The engulfment.

Eyes closed.
Heart limp like the body.
But the mind and some part of the soul at least
Grasping at the memories
And those precious.
In hopes that those never fade away.
All while the body is swallowed.
By none other
Than death.

Many dread the concept of a void. Perhaps, though, it's not that bad. In a void, there are no forms, nothing to demoralize us with their dissipations. In the void all is one. And one is love.

Thank you for the insight! I've never thought of it that way :) I'll have to remember this.
