Days after You

Days after You

A Poem by Mira

I expected something to stay behind,

an anger, a sorrow, an emptiness.

But there is a profound fulfilment.

A saturation of something unknown.

A memory? a sorrow? happiness?

It is as if you were never there.

The illusionary me from the past

Is still hallucinating about a future.

The time when your absence was a constant presence

Seems a faraway dream with a forgotten story.

I have lost my words, I have lost my world.

You were not the Sun, I didn't make you one.

The path I was supposed to tread have gone astray.

I am stranded on an island

Waiting for a ship to pass by.

This was really good one. Days pass, people comes and goes in our life. Sometimes we miss them very badly and at times it's just like hmm okay no worries.

True...some people are meant to leave... We should just accept the fact and move on...
