The red stringA Poem by Mira
The lies piled up like stubborn walls
Round the imprisoned truth I held. Laughter cried from beyond the bars, Wondering where it failed. The hand I held, The eyes I saw, Now floated in the misty snow As mirages adorned the road. The steps that were meant to be taken in pride, Are taken in shame and sorrow. The tight little bond With the right amount of promises Got loosened with the beat of time, The stranded strings lay bare And strangled the love I cared. © 2022 MiraFeatured Review
