Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by Mira
"

The flickering hope

"
The forest where I stopped

Lost

And hurt,

To hide and sink into the dark;

I saw a firefly,

Flitting here and there

On the leaves

And blades of grass

Between the trees;

It made way through the impenetrable world

Of fear and loss

Lighting a merry little path.

I followed in a trance

Hypnotised by the tiny little sun

Flickering and brightening

But steadily going

To the way out of the world I feared.

Delightfully visual abd uplifting. That light in the forest a sign of hope in the dark. Nicely penned.
