Water Washes Away Everything

Water Washes Away Everything

A Poem by Kyle W. Hunt

Warm water trickles down my back

Washing away my anxieties

During my morning shower

Soft pitter patter

Hitting the marble floor

The droplets of water are like diamonds

Raining down from the sky

As I am enveloped in their glistening glaze

Hot steam stumbles over the steps of the shower

and seems to fill the room like a ghost

The shrouds of white capes march around the room

Fighting off the dust in battle

Energizing me with action

And awakening my mind

For the painful day ahead of me

Wow I like this a lot! Showers are truly calming, they always make me feel better. Your title really caught my eye because I read this about 10 minutes after showering, hah. The last line "For the painful day ahead of me" really sums this poem up well. I also really like "The droplets of water are like diamonds Raining down from the sky". It's very interesting how you went from comparing water to diamonds, but then referred back to rain which associates with the water droplets. Do you get what I'm saying there? The first two opening lines are also great, "Warm water trickles down my back Washing away my anxieties."
The entire poem is just fantastic and so utterly true.
Great job!
