First sight part 7

First sight part 7

A Story by minnie:)

It was around nine o'clock at night when Jake pulled into Nora's driveway, he cut the engine. Nora leaned over and kissed Jake.  "You wanna come in?"
"Sure." She kissed him again and got out of the car. "Come on." Jake got out and they both ran to the porch. Nora unlocked the door and they went inside. She sat her purse down and leaned on the edge of the dining table.
"So....... what do you want to do?"
Jake walked towards her. He sat his hands on both sides of her waist and leaned toward her.  "I wanna spend as much time with you as possible." He leaned in the rest of the way and kissed her. Nora wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.
They both jumped at the sound of someone knocking on the door. "Holy s**t." Nora said. She went to the door, when she opened it she saw Sammy standing on the porch. She looked from Jake to Nora. She walked towards Jake, she grabbed his shirt and pushed him out the door.
"If i EVER see you here again, it wont be pretty." She slammed the door and walked to Nora. "Why are you doing this?"
      "Doing what?"
"You pushed John away from Samantha, you're basically FORCING her to be with Jake."
"Not my fault she gave up."
"She gave up because John gave up."
"Ugh, well let me tell you this. I'm not keeping her locked up everyday. I'll let her out, just when I want to let her out."
Nora walked to the door, she opened it and made a gesture telling Sammy to leave. Sammy looked at her disgusted.
     "You're cruel."
"Thank you so much," Nora put her hand on her heart. "that means so much to me." She said sarcastically. "Now leave." Sammy walked out the door. She saw Jake leaning against the house standing next to the door. "You're pathetic." She said looking at Jake with hate in her eyes. With that she got in her car and left.
Before Nora could close the door, Jake walked in.
"Well look at that, you didn't leave." Nora said happily.
"Why would I?" Jake caressed her cheek. "I want to be with you, I don't want to leave your side."
"I know, but you have to leave. My mom is going to be home soon."
"Okay, I'll pick you up tomorrow, maybe we can go somewhere."
"Not tomorrow, I'll be busy. Pick me up the day after tomorrow."
"Alright." Jake leaned in and kissed her. "I'll see you later." Jake left, Nora went up to her room and sat on her bed.
"Samantha, I know you can hear me. Tomorrow I'm going to let you out, keep in mind I'm only doing this to make you suffer the way you made me suffer. I'm going to enjoy every second of your tears and pain." She laid down, and after a few minutes she fell asleep.
Sunday morning Samantha woke up to the sound of her alarm. She reached her arm over to her bedside table and pressed the snooze button on her alarm. She got up and walked to the restroom. After she washed her face she looked at herself in the mirror. She felt tears swelling in her eyes, she quickly wiped them away.
"Get over it," She said to her reflection. "he gave up, it doesn't matter anymore."
She went back to her room, stripping from the clothes she wore yesterday. She grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a graphic tee. She got dressed and ran down stairs meeting her mom in the kitchen. She put on her most convincing smile.
                                  "Hey mom."
"You're up! Finally, I didn't know whether I could keep it in any longer."
"You seem happy. What's with you?"
She grabbed a small box off of the counter then she grabbed Samantha's hand. She pulled her outside to the driveway where it revealed two cars. One belonged to her mom, it was an orange punch buggy convertible. Samantha had no idea where the other car came from. The other car was a brand new black ford mustang.
                                "Well?" Her mom asked joyfully.
                                 "Well what?"
"I got you a car! I figured you're old enough, so I got a car for you so you wouldn't have to catch a ride from Luna or Sammy."
"Wow mom, thanks!" I love it!" She tried sounding as enthusiastic as she could. Her mom handed Samantha the small box she grabbed off of the counter in the kitchen. Samantha opened it and it revealed two keys in the bottom of the box. "Those are the keys to the car. One is a spare in case you lose the other."
"Wow, thanks again mom. I'll take it for a test ride today."
"Okay, the tank is full, but that's only because the people at the dealership filled it up before I brought it home. So that means if you need gas you're the one paying for it."
"How did you get it here mom?"
"One of the guys at the dealership drove it here. I had to give him a ride back when it reached the house."
                                     "Oh, well thanks again."
"No problem Samantha, oh and before I forget to tell you. I'm going to be gone for two weeks on a business trip for two weeks."
                                   "Two weeks?!"
"Yes. I'll be in Orlando, Florida."
"Alright." Samantha said, she let out a deep breath."You should get packed." Samantha started walking but her and her mom stopped when they heard a loud grumbling noise coming from her stomach. Her eyes went wide and she looked at her stomach. "And I need to eat to."
"Yes you do. Before your stomach starts doing more than grumbling." They walked inside, Samantha walked to the kitchen and poured herself a bowl of cereal. Her mom went upstairs and packed her suitcase.
Sometime later Samantha finished her cereal. She sat her bowl in the sink and went upstairs to her moms room. "Hey mom, I'm gonna go ahead and take the car for a test ride."
"Alright, well I may not be here when you get back. My plane leaves in a little under three hours."
"Okay, I'll see you later." Samantha left the house.
She didn't know where she wanted to go she just drove to a random place.
Samantha parked her car in a parking lot for a cafe called Colliers Coffee Shoppe. She got out of the car and started walking towards the Coffee Shoppe, she stopped when she saw two teenage guys, around her age, standing next to the cafes entrance. The two boys were staring at her, pointing and laughing.
One of them was wearing a navy blue graphic tee and he wore blue jeans that hung low on his waist. He had brown hair and he was about a foot taller than Samantha.
The other one had a plain white tee-shirt with dark blue jeans. Unlike the other guy, his fit perfectly around his waist, his hair was dirty blonde and he was about three inches shorter than his friend.
Samantha turned around and started walking the opposite direction of the two boys. She heard them mumbling some words behind her as their footsteps inched closer towards her. She started at a faster pace and turned the corner of the building. Samantha found herself in an empty alley, the only thing there was a dumpster and a dead end. She heard the two boys close behind, and before she could hide they turned the corner.
"Hey, where you going?" Blondie asked. "We just wanted to have some fun." Samantha started backing up, she stopped when she felt her back touch the wall.
"That's to bad, I'm in no mood for fun right now."
The boy with brown hair leaned against the wall. "Aw come on, we can't take you for a drink?"
"Nope, don't take drinks from creeps like you." Samantha started to walk away but blondie grabbed her arm. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Let me go."  She tried to jerk her arm away but his grip was to tight. He pushed her against the wall and leaned in close to her face. The guy with brown hair stood next to him laughing. "You're not going anywhere."
There was another voice in the alley a couple of seconds later. "Apparently you didn't hear her right. She said let go." Samantha recognized the voice instantly. She looked over at Jake confused. "Jake?" Jake started walking in their direction. Blondie let out an evil laugh. "You really think I'm going to listen to you?"
Jake reached behind his back and pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
"Actually yes, if you don't want any trouble." Blondie let go of Samantha and raised his hands to his shoulders. His friend looked at Jake with wide eyes but a couple of seconds later he had an evil smile on his face. He reached behind him and pulled out a gun, before anything could happen a loud shot escaped the gun. Jake dropped to his knees in pain clenching his arm, blood fell to the ground. He sat leaning against the wall. "Jake!" She ran over to him, she dropped to her knees and squeezed his arm to stop the blood from flowing out of his arm. She looked up, and when she did the two boys were gone. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed 911.
"Hello? I need an ambulance, my friend was shot. We're in an alley behind Colliers Coffee Shoppe. He's bleeding badly, I don't know what to do." There was a pause then she started talking again. "Okay, just please hurry." She hung up and put her phone back in her pocket. She looked at Jake, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Samantha." His voice sounded weak and a little rough. "I'm sorry, for everything." He stopped talking to take in a breath. "I love you, and I would never walk out on you like John did......." Samantha interrupted before he could say anything else."Stop talking, you shouldn't talk right now, especially in the condition you're in."
"No, I need to say this." He stopped again to take a breath, instead he moaned in pain. "Samantha, I am so sorry. I have been hoping over the past six months that you would find a way to forgive me. I wish I would've treated you better instead of doing what I did. This never would've happened." He let out another moan of pain. More tears slid down Samantha's cheeks, she tried to blink the tears away but she lost control. "Jake stop." Jake lifted his good arm and laid his hand on her cheek. "I'm sorry, I love you. Please try and find a way to forgive me." He leaned in towards her and kissed her. She didn't pull back to slap him or yell at him, she just let him finish.
John pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Sammy's number. Three rings later she answered. "Hello?"
"Hey, has Samantha called you at all today?"
"Oh, it's you. The one that backed down and gave up on a girl that needed as much help as she could get."
"Look, I wanted to apologize to her. I was going to go to her house to do it but I wanted to see if she's called you before I went over there."
"As a matter of fact no she hasn't. I haven't heard from her all morning. She's probably still depressed and is crying right now."
"Thanks, I'll just head over to her house then." Before Sammy could say anything John hung up. He grabbed his keys and went to his car which he had gotten back after having to walk to the abandoned restaurant to get back.
Twenty minutes later he pulled into Samantha's drive way. He saw her mom's car but didn't care, he wanted to apologize to Samantha and put all of this behind them. He knew it wouldn't be easy but he was going to do whatever it took.
He walked to the front door and knocked. He heard another voice on the other side of the door. He knew it was her mom's voice because no one else lived there besides the two of them. "Coming!" No more than a minute later her mom opened the door. "Um, hello. Who are you."
"Hi ma'am. My name is John. I'm a friend of Samantha's, I was just wondering if she's home. I need to talk to her."
"Oh? John eh? I've never heard about you, well sorry to say Samantha's not here right now. She went out."
"Do you know where she went?"
"I'm sorry, I don't. She probably went to a random place since I got her a new car yesterday. Just gave it to her today. She left after she ate breakfast."
"Okay, well will you tell her I stopped by? I need to talk to her and that it's important."
    "Sure, and you are........"
     "John."
"John? Okay, I'll be sure to tell her you stopped by."
     "Thank you."
"No problem." John left the house and called Sammy. He dialed her number and a second later she answered. "What now?"
"Do you know a place that Samantha would go when she's, you know, upset?
"Um, the park, Colliers Coffee Shoppe, Broosters. Those are the only places I can think of that she would go to when she's upset or depressed."
"Alright, thanks. I'll talk to you later." He hung up the phone and headed to the first place Sammy said.
Samantha heard the sirens close by. "They're almost here Jake, just hold on a little longer." The ambulance pulled up on the side of the road. two men came out of the back of the truck with a gurney. They walked up to them, they picked Jake up and laid him gently on the gurney. They put him in the truck and Samantha climbed in behind them. "What are you doing?" Jake asked, his voice sounding weak. "I'm staying with you."
A few minutes later the truck pulled in to the hospital ER drop off. They pulled Jake out of the truck and took him inside. A nurse stopped Samantha in the waiting room. "We need you to stay here, we will let you know when you can come back."
"Okay." Samantha sat in an empty chair close to the doors that lead to the ER. She laid her head on the wall and fell asleep. A few minutes later she woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. She pulled it out of her pocket and flipped it open to answer. "Hello?"
"Hey, it's John. Where are you? I need to talk to you." She didn't say a word, she closed her phone and was about to put it back in her pocket when it started ringing again. She looked at the number on the phone, it was John calling again to tell her he needed to talk to her. She turned her phone off and put it in her pocket. She laid her head on the wall and fell back asleep.
Some time later a nurse came out, she went over to Samantha and lightly shook her shoulder to wake her up. "Miss." Samantha opened her eyes, she saw the nurse and sat up. "Oh, I'm sorry."
                    "Are you Samantha?"
                    "Yes, I am."
"Your friend wants to see you. He's in room two thirteen."
"Okay, thank you." Samantha walked to room two thirteen but before she went inside she checked her phone. There were four missed calls from John and one from Sammy. She dialed Sammy's number and a few rings later there was an answer. "Hello?"
         "Hey,it's Samantha."
"Hey, just one question. Why are you?! And why aren't you answering your phone?"
"I thought you were only going to ask one question. And I'm not telling you where I am. I don't want to be bothered right now. John has called me five or six times and it's getting annoying."
" He probably went to your house to see if you were there."
"I wouldn't be surprised if he ran into my mom while he was there. Anyway I have to go, I'll talk to you later." Samantha hung up and went inside the room. When she walked in she saw Jake was sitting up awake. His left arm was wrapped in bandages with a small amount of blood showing through them, he had a pudding cup in his right hand. "Well I can see you're feeling better."
"I am now." The look on his face was serious, but Samantha knew he was either smiling or screaming in pain from his injury on the inside. She closed the door and sat down in a chair next to the hospital bed.
"Okay, Jake look, I want to know how you knew where I was."
