Disillusioned

Disillusioned

A Poem by minisla
"

Tale of a blind eye

"
As the year 2015 comes grinding to a halt
Expected to continue being grateful for our lot
Wool thrown once again over our eyes blinded
Not meant to see the million others simply distraught

Those who suffer from illness and starvation
War crimes people slain in their hundreds having their way
Not a murmur from the privilidged in society
Injustice on a daily basis in the media but for one day

Think not only of the human loss
But of all creatures who share this earth
Species forced out of their habitats
Only to face their own extinction to satisfy our lust

The time has come to cherish every tiny little being
That exists upon this floating rock in space
A place very few eyes have ever seen
Hatred evil need removing without trace

From 2016 make our home a place to dream
Create laws preventing unwanted suffering
So all that share this alongside us humans
For there's so very little left of her in which to take
