The Trap

The Trap

A Poem by Jimmy Seaman
"

Narative poem for English

"
     He ran.
Ran straight towards my lifeless body as I watched from heaven, crying and screaming out his name.
It was a trap.
They killed me and left my body for bait.

Roger, my dear friend, son of the governor.
He sat by my body pulling the knife out of my back.
Realizing all to late that it was a trap.

By the time he turned around I knew that he, would be by my side again soon.
He fell on top of my body, an arrow in his neck.
"Welcome to heaven." was all I could say.

Our bodies were searched.
After two days the bodies were found.
"That's the trap."
And the bandits sprang again.
