Hands

Hands

A Poem by Tiffany Marie Congdon

Hands
You left without another word
Broke my little heart and there you stand,
I kept on reaching for your hands.
You left me with my childish thoughts
Still smiling cause I didn't understand,
I kept on reaching for your hands.
Reaching out, reaching out, but you never greet me
Screaming out, screaming out, why don't you ever hear me?
Your memory of me is gone
Yet I can't forget the life we planned,
I kept on reaching for your hands.
You've lost your life you used to love
Just a boy, thought he could be a man,
I kept on reaching for your hands.
Reaching out, reaching out, but you never greet me
Screaming out, screaming out, why don't you ever hear me?
Reaching out, reaching out, still you never greet me
Screaming out, screaming out, why don't you ever hear me?
Still I keep reaching for your hands.
Just a boy, you'll never understand.
