Being Husband and Wife

Being Husband and Wife

A Poem by Heath Mindy

We did the load
Love as code
They were there
No discussion of what is fair
Just the love that carried the care
You washed the dishes
God blessed my wishes
I dried the rack
No one kept track
Of who did what, this much or that
Neither felt the other was a dirty rat
You did what you did
Not one of us
We worked together as one
Those dirty dishes
Finally
Got done!
Thank God for His salvation
He is good.
Thus work can get done
All in peace and harmony
Thank you God
For your Son.
The victories on earth, even doing chores
Due to our rebirth, are washed upon the shores
Done
Wone
The victory in Jesus Your Son.
In your time, these are signs,
That your life, is here, in my husband, for his wife.
Thank you Jesus, that you drew him to your heart-
Because you live, his life in my spirit did not depart.
Memories of a small act of love, doing dishes,
Are miracles, beyond a women's wishes.
Talking in fellowship along the way
Getting them done together,
Being one in marriage, being husband and wife,
Today.
