Did you think it was all for fun?

He vacuumed the living floor one day.

All the children heard him say

was how they needed to take off their shoes,

All the other don't and do

Pick up the little lint you see, 

Then it did occur to me,

How we all did this day in and day out

How blessed he was that we did not shout

Thanks for understanding how we all felt!

You came in from work day in and day out,

Leaving your foot prints from the front door, through out-

Landing on the couch till it was time to eat

Then off to your ready made bed, to a comfy sleep.

Mom didn't get a pay check but you did and shared

However it occurred to us all how much you cared

To get up every day and go off to work

Did you think we did nothing ? Tell me, your NOT a jerk?

You didn't think that the vacuum job was once and for all done that day

Just because you did it, and yet being it was without pay, 

Was it a job of no value or worth to anyone?

Here is a trophy for all you've done!

Now as you find your woman has aged and tired over the years,

Never noticing her hours figuring the bills in her tears, 

Perhaps if she had gone to work she would have none of her fears

She could have hired a house keeper, and child care giver

Saved on your beer and protected your liver? 

It seems a thank you from you, was not in order, 

She lived a risky life, and now your on the border! 

The years have come and the years have gone, 

She worked so hard, it never did dawn,

On her that you did not appreciate, 

Too bad, for her, it is too late.

You had it all and gave no care, even as a single man, you'd of had to work, somewhere! 

She took what you had and did multiply, 

You dare to ask what happened to your life, and why?

She cooked and cleaned and kept your finances and all your children she did bare!

you never went without a clean shirt on your back, a hot meal in front of you, or a warm bed to sleep in at night-

When it comes to marriage in this day and age you have set an example to the young ones, no wonder their afright!

Not sure if that goes for both male and female, sad there is for both a tale. 

Relationships take work and the hope 

that no one does fail!
