HeroesA Poem by Mind RacerA mock-epic that i made up about a year ago. Had to do it for school.
I will clean tomorrow, I say, as i fall into bed
But alas! Tomorrow arrives and I am filled with dread And the next and the next without a spot to be clean I am buried in dust as five multiplies to fifteen The dishes tower as they build up in the kitchen sink The ground my clothes lay, they will attack before you can blink What am I to do with the monster using my shampoo? Try as I might to get past him, but he won't let me through Then, to my aid in came swooping a hero named mom Even through the dust and the dirt I could see she was calm The dirty dishes gone, and so are all of my clothes I realized I should have never doubted her, as my hero arose Somewhere in this favored land, dirt lies un-kept Not in this house, not anymore, away it was swept To all of the grand heroes named mom who we owe our lives We may doubt you now, but one day we will be heroes too.
