Heroes

Heroes

A Poem by Mind Racer
"

A mock-epic that i made up about a year ago. Had to do it for school.

"
I will clean tomorrow, I say, as i fall into bed
But alas! Tomorrow arrives and I am filled with dread
And the next and the next without a spot to be clean
I am buried in dust as five multiplies to fifteen

The dishes tower as they build up in the kitchen sink
The ground my clothes lay, they will attack before you can blink
What am I to do with the monster using my shampoo?
Try as I might to get past him, but he won't let me through

Then, to my aid in came swooping a hero named mom
Even through the dust and the dirt I could see she was calm
The dirty dishes gone, and so are all of my clothes
I realized I should have never doubted her, as my hero arose

Somewhere in this favored land, dirt lies un-kept
Not in this house, not anymore, away it was swept
To all of the grand heroes named mom who we owe our lives
We may doubt you now, but one day we will be heroes too.

I was about to comment that someday you will be the hero, but then you threw in that ending and ruined my remark. Moms are great, aren't they? Loved your poem.

Thanks so much for the kind words!
"Then, to my aid in come swooping a hero named mom" the word 'come' should be 'came' in this line.
This poem was cute and fun! Enjoyed reading it. :)

oops! Missed that! Thank you!
Great write and from heart, fully enjoyed, am so glad you called your mom a hero, today my seventeen year told me you both parents will do above and beyond for me and my brother, but do not make this message stuck in to your mind, really proud that you appreciate your mom, well done

You most welcome, my pleasure
Being a mother is the highest calling for a woman, the endless sacrifice and nurturing, We'd be lost without our mothers...I truly enjoyed this one!
