Come-prologue

A Chapter by Mind Racer
"

Come, come and listen to the story of you, and the story of me, and the story of this village

"

“Come, come and listen to the story of you, and the story of me, and the story of this village.”

In little time, all who cared to listen were sitting is a tight group in front of their elder. Murmurs of excitement came over the group, until the frail old man shushed them. Instantly, the room was silent. All eyes looked curiously at the man, waiting for him to begin. No one dared speak, for fear of the storyteller giving up on his story. Finally, he cleared his throat and began,

“See, my young friends, our kind did not always live in harmony with Nature. We destroyed it. Used more than we needed. It was madness, Nature was slowly losing. We were killing ourselves and our brother species. Until one day, Nature had to decide between the safety of all of her children, or us.  Nature had had enough, and she fought back. In days, our cities were reduced to ash. We had thought that we were the strongest, that we controlled Nature. We were wrong. Nature had simply let us have control, and she took it back. All hope was lost, death was everywhere. The world had stopped fighting and started to give in.

One saved us all. He was unwanted, unloved and untalented. They say he was everything but a hero. Yet, he stopped a worldwide war. This man never stopped fighting, never even questioned his motives. He saw beauty in every part of the world. Even in during the worst of times. You see, there is beauty everywhere, but most people cannot see it. You may be asking, what made him so important? My fellow citizens, nothing made him better than anyone else. He had the same power as every person sitting here in this room. He chose to use this power, instead of hide it. This hero embraced what the world had told him to ignore.

This is the story of how one man, found beauty during a war. The story of how he saved all of Nature’s children.
