I remember a line from the John Wayne movie, "Chisolm" where Ben Johnson says to John Wayne, " Ya know what they say, there's no law west of the Mississippi and no God west of the Pecos, ain't that right Mr. Chisolm?" And John Wayne relies, " No Mr. Pepper, because wherever men go, sooner or later, there's the law, and sooner or later they find out God's already been there." I like this piece, it's dark and a little eerie, sort of a spooky write. But it evokes a feeling and a sense of place very well. Nice work as always.
Wow!! That is some bad church karma Mimi, your closing line is a beaut and I believe it is true, they have boiled Christ right out of the Holy water. Cold statues, cold floors and cold hearts...very real and I speak from experience here. When we praise the sound and feel should be living water...I think God has to be bored and one day he will be too tired to be bothered with us.
The flame inside has to make an appearance at the dance of heaven bound music...we are capable and it is the leaders who are accountable for yawning congregations...maybe they too are bored..."Yawning just thinking about it*
Great Mimi work...worthy of an 'A' *wink*
The Pharisees were already dead when they conquered the world, slipping in wherever authority was needed. Now they're just board. Like an aids virus of the soul, nothing really stands against them, especially the truth...
