Fire inside

Fire inside

A Poem by For Who I Am

Fire, it burns in our eyes
Fire, it burns us inside
Is it really a toy, luring you into a trap?
Or will it guide you turning into a map
It eats us alive, inside, out
It makes me sad when others pout
etching a mark into my skin
Forming more and more sins
It builds a solitary shield around me
Can't you see this monstrosity?
Scared and alone in this dark and painful path
The fire making a clear way in the abyss
It vanquishes the night's children, turning them into mist.
The advantages that makes us free
No matter how hard I try it's still inside me

I like this representation of fire, because it's the subconscious belief of fire itself; the idea of fire. What I got out of it was that there are always positive and negative outcomes of fire, and it can leave permanent marks on a person.
Just lovely.
