Crash and burn

Crash and burn

A Poem by Millzy86

For so long
Kept myself behind a wall
Always asking myself
"Who's gonna catch me"
When I start to fall

Such tight restraints
Cause rebellion to break free
Rose tinted glass blur
A stubborn weapon refusing to see

The heart makes a sound
The mind no longer understands
Another rhythm to beat to
Something the soul never planned

The mind turns so fast at times
Too swift for the idle hand
A song comitted to memory
A missile aiming to crash land

Critique: (For so long Kept myself behind a wall) "For so long I Kept myself behind a wall" see how adding the identifier word I helps the flow.
(A song comitted to memory) committed

Review: I am part Blackfeet Indian and there is an old belief that a person can become lost within themselves. This happens when you try thinking with your heart or soul, try feeling with your mind or soul, try making life decisions with your heart or mind. Your poem makes me think of this belief as every action seems a conflict with one's self. I love when I read something that makes me think, makes me feel a kinship with it and that is what you have done with this poem, thank you for that :~) Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

About
I am just a normal person but I use poetry to express the things I can't say. Still very much an amateur but I just wrote what comes. I'm open to criticism as it helps refine the hand. more..
