Heavy door slams
Foul obscenities mumbled Home from the pub In search of light He stumbles She hides within the confines of her bed Fearful heart, racing wildly Slow deliberate footsteps Find their way to her imprisoning room Rancid stale beer, suffocating her With it’s clammy hands Shielding blankets, roughly cast aside Suddenly feeble armour gone A savage silhouette towers Something less than human She is a lifeless rag doll Thrown effortlessly Across the incarcerating room Precious possessions destroyed Terrified screams stifled shamelessly Hastily greeted by more bruises A frail arm breaks free Defensively strikes his taunting face Barbaric beast rouses from its drunken stupor She sees her partner distraught Stricken with regret and despair Quickly he fades The tiring battle finally over Heart heavy Frantic pulse drops rapidly Forlorn and alone Something less than human Depraved lost and confused Betrayed Ragged fatigued breathing Glass tears cascade Despondently The heroic sandman rescues her Descending to a land of secure slumber Until tomorrow night © 2015 Millzy86 |
