After the Accident

After the Accident

A Poem by j.a. mills
"

Another poem like "Love Less" which I wrote after a very bad accident that almost cost me my sister.

"

I can

              r

                             e

pair the fender, and it will be like it used to be,

or at least hire someone to do it.

I can

              f

                             i

      x the damage to the mailbox;

my dad taught me how to do it.

I can

              r

                             e

place the shredded tires and the broken windows,

I just need to find the tools.

But it wasn’t so simple when I saw what the

accident took from all of us.

There are no tools to repair a broken

heart or patch our peace of mind,

and there is no one to hire to replace

her.
