Love Less

Love Less

A Poem by j.a. mills
"

I've never done a poem (until now) that messes as much as this one does with lines. I'm not sure if this has a name, but if it does let me know. Again, totally experimental, but very fun.

"

That man over there says he’s f

alling for her,

and she says she’s f

alling for him, too.

Now they’re both f

alling all over the place,

and it’s a miracle they haven’t scraped their knees.

That woman says she is c             r             a            z             y for him,

and he says she drives him w     i             l             d.

How on Earth are afflictions of the m      i             n            d

in any way, romantic?

That woman says she’s been set on fire,

and he’s been struck with arrows.

That man says he’s hooked,

like some addict, or haddock.
