Beauty in a Pile of Pixels

Beauty in a Pile of Pixels

A Poem by Arly Parent

It's been a long time
Since I could look at a picture of you and think you beautiful
But today I did
In a pile of pictures
there was a pile of pixels that showed you
beautiful

It was the only one in the set
one moment where the old bruises were gone
one moment where the bags under your eyes were not subtly shaded half ringlets under the blue of the windows to your soul
one moment where the past few years never happened and...
poof

Confident
Coquettish
Imperious
Happy
...Beautiful

but only for that instant
and  in a single pile of pixels loosely tied together
that disappear when I turn off the screen

There's nothing about me. I play with pauses as well as silence. I write words, assign meanings and junk, and play with a language that might be as much my own as another. I don't know. more..
