The Face of Major Changes (Major Work in Progress)

The Face of Major Changes (Major Work in Progress)

A Poem by Arly Parent

Cold cream and acetone...
the recipe for stripping away faces
poured(sit?) in her sink

For the first time in a long time
there's a short time,
where she'll think

about the last time she caught her true reflection in that bathroom sink:

She was cold, that day in hell
the birds were hardly chirping
the cars were slogging through the snow
and the streetlights were barely working

> Stuff
> Goes
> Here
> But I haven't thought of it yet

>>>>>>Possible ending
There have been failures since then
as is the course of all change
but now there is hope
as she looks back at the door
for beyond it, she knows, lies the other girl's shadows
mangled on the floor (end?)

Looking down into the sink
she see the face stripped off
swirling slowly about

the time has come to make a choice
to let the unplug the drain
and let the past seep out.
