My Kindness

My Kindness

A Poem by Arly Parent

My Kindness ended
not with a whimper
but with a bang

People died

Hearts were broken
Innocence was speared
tears were shed
and the complacent were left defenseless
the truth of their fragility laid clear and bare

A good man died that day

Limbs were shattered
None were left with a leg to stand on
Except one who walked away

You can feel the sorrow in this write...

My kindness ended....

Sometimes we have to find it in our hearts to forgive..... but nothing will ever stop one from forgetting....

Very poignant write and well penned..

I hear you...
Powerful language.

As if a lack of chaos depended on that one narrator's Kindness.

I like the white space that you left around the one liners "People died" and "A good man died that day."
