Storm's Comin' ?

Storm's Comin' ?

A Poem by Arly Parent

There are storm clouds on the horizon
...probably

I've heard the long roll of thunder
The peal of the bell that heralds lightning's reign

I know there will be something to come
because harbingers and portents abound
I'm sure
It must be
There can be almost no doubt
Everything points to...

well...
maybe I'm wrong
and assuming much too much
ever so easily taking the words of fortune tellers and soothsayers and wanderers with "more experience"
than I.
Portents and parables
harbingers and hazy outlooks of what might/must/shall be
and I think...
"What am I doing?"
"How could I th--"

....and then it rains

There's nothing about me. I play with pauses as well as silence. I write words, assign meanings and junk, and play with a language that might be as much my own as another. I don't know. more..
