Visuals

A Poem by Arly Parent

Your love/laugh/smile is like visual sound
The crinkle in the corner of your lips is the sound of the quickened thumping of my heart
The twinkle in your eye is the silence in my soul as I wonder if fortune can truly be this kind
The curve of your hand in mine is the subtle patter of young feet, our children who will love you, mommy, forever.
The flash of your teeth is quiet rustling of the winter roses at the heart of our wedding--two stems intertwined--
nuzzling petals blown by the wind
Two symbols of life that will never fade.
Your fingertips are...the sound of my quickened breath
because now and for all time you make me anxious.
--You are--
a vision of beauty
and the sound of a world I want to embrace
the sound of a world I never want to change or leave

About
There's nothing about me. I play with pauses as well as silence. I write words, assign meanings and junk, and play with a language that might be as much my own as another. I don't know. more..
