Zoe

Zoe

A Poem by Olivia Comanse
"

poem

"
Homemade
stitches regular and even
strewn about
brown button nose
gingham shift
and feet that sit
like clubs on the ends of twigs.
I was hypnotized by her
(the nurse asked me if I was a Scorpio on
the third question)
and i was dumb
pointing to the hospital wristband
terrified by her red-lipsticked mouth
that smiled
vulpine.
