Starry Night

Starry Night

A Poem by miyu
"

Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night'...

"
But even though there was silence,
Ear splitting silence,
The stars were bright like the hope
In a little girl's eyes deep down below
In a city that is always sleeping.

The night,
Clear enough that the breeze
Whispering through the barren
      cobblestone streets
Was visible to the naked eye.

The moon,
Silver like a placid prairie lake
In unveiled streaks of
      crescent sparkle.
The hopeful child tosses and turns
In her quaint cot,
On the brink of dawn awakening.

She will be alone.

All alone.

She will roam the streets,
Blank and mindless,
Her lucidity blurred by
       constant dormancy.

She won't mind being alone
For she has always been that way,
Since the beginning when she fell
Into a starry night
Of dreamless sleep.
