chapter four

"Hi." Kayla said quietly. Her mother put a comforting hand on Kayla's knee. "You have to learn how to get up in the morning." Kayla's mom went on about responsibility, and half the time, Kayla wasn't listening. Finally her mom finished. "You're right. When's dinner?" Kayla asked. Her mother sighed, knowing Kayla was bored. "I'll make it now."
