The rest of the day passed in a blur. Kayla walked into her house, carelessly throwing her keys onto the countertop. She takes off her boots and socks and looked over into the living room. She saw her mom sitting on the couch and paused. Should she go in? Kayla sighed and walked into the room. "Guess I'll get this over with..." Kayla thought. The soft carpet squished under her barefoot toes as she sat next to her mom. Her mother looked at Kayla.
