Keep Thy Promise

Keep Thy Promise

A Poem by Miles

Awaiting at the pavilion for that solid promise
No seats dry enough to be sat upon
Slight shiver running through creases unknown
From a bewildering, heavy jacket of darkness

He of she said he or she would be here
And yet, he or she has still not appeared
While the floor planks corrode
I race not for my abode
And stand as patient as a mule

Time is stretching like mercury
As memories of what once was and what will be
Flood my belching canvas of electrodes

No hope, no despair
Just one mission
Stay here, for he or she will come
Bringing along a flight of merciful rest

Sanctuary awaits
Yet I am stuck in vivid images and idioms
Simply gluing myself to this dimension
Asking for just one favor

Keep thy promise, ye b*****d
