High On Life

High On Life

A Poem by Miles

Why am I smiling?
What kind of question is that?
Look at the taste of this meat
Juicy and chewy and filling
Dashed with some Nutella
And washed down with Sprite

How could I not?
And don't you hear the music?
Animal Collective is swimming through my hall
Picking me up, and I'll never jump off
Sounds of happiness around a hippy picnic
Flooding my brainwaves like a tsunami

I mean, who wouldn't?
And how 'bout this movie!
Cyrus is making me laugh
And now it's making me cry
If only I had a third shoulder

Everything's fine, guys
So what if there's heavy traffic?
So what if it's raining?
So what if it's pouring!
Just put on your dancing shoes
And go get high on life

This is great. The best piece of advice i've ever gotten is "don't take life so seriously" and that's how i try to live. i think this poem does a great job of focusing on the little things and emphasizing the value of appreciating life.

Digging the Animal Collective allusion, and I got the feeling that that isn't the only stimulant! Then again, it's all good.
