Be Your Own Poet

Be Your Own Poet

A Poem by Miles

Papermâché
Once per cliché
Could it be so hard
To make a rhyme a different way?

Only if it stayed
In your minds
And in your signs
Bursting forth
More than it usually binds

But I hope it always will
My name and face remembered still
For throwing up new metaphors and dying birds
Making up names and famliar words

I just like to be fresh
Even if it is a compact mesh
But I'll never copy and paste the glass
Plagiarism gets you an "F" in my class

So, is this method tried and true?
To shine with everything inside of you?
Well, you can't get something from nothing
Just make sure you aren't bluffing

Fill it up, mix and mash
Give us an Indian burn and leave a rash
But don't whine about another a*s on the radio
Take a stand for a gnome
Like Floyd did a long time ago
