Unsatisfied

Unsatisfied

A Poem by Miles

I am unsatisfied
I'm unsatisfied with today's below-average lyrics
I'm unsatisfied with the hermit nature of this town
I'm unsatisfied with the ongoing struggle for truth
And I'm unsatisfied with our lack of recent, notable discoveries

Call me pessimistic
But it all seems so cliché

When I see my reflection
I have the same, recurring feeling
That I do not belong

So I've waited
And journeyed
And follied
And ferried
And buried

Still
I am unsatisfied
I'm unsatisfied with the 3-hour separation from my friends
I'm unsatisfied with my slow, second-hand computer
I'm unsatisfied with my slim, paperweight body
And I'm unsatisfied with the lingering dependence on family finances

Regretfully
I wish I was still clouded
By those same Satanic notions I once had

A hope, and practice,
Of a boundless form

I can never find much meaning anymore
Not in anything
Not with this permanent, existentialist philosophy of mine
But, as always,
It does feel good to write
