Daily Confusion

Daily Confusion

A Poem by Miles

Stricken like an eagle
In a swamp where it shouldn't be
Flying out with a talon
Broken in two or three

Pieces of a puzzle
Couldn't solve it with a German nuzzle
Pulling out the fire hose
Burning like a dying rose

Free us from the shackles of a
Crazed, white polar bear
Another knuckle in the elbow
Won't cure a lack of hair

Bleeding out my inner colon
Swear it's gonna get me going
Running to the bathroom
But there's no toilet paper

Confusing me
Their using me
Just set me free
So I can be, on my way

Wipe off the water
From the damp eulogy
Try to read, try to see
Just what this hooker wrote

Give a "Good day" to your neighbor
In the end you wouldn't save her
Sneaking to her house in the night
But there's no toilet paper

Confusing me
Their using me
Just set me free
So I can be, on my way

Man...I certainly am confused. I like the contrast between the simplicity of the fifth and eighth stanzas and the complexity of the rest.

Not yet sure of what the imagery is really meaning (if indeed it means anything at all).

A nice and light read for sure.
