The Sky Is Grey

The Sky Is Grey

A Poem by Miles

Give me that nod for my "morning"
Disrespectful anticipation
Crawl around on your knees
Lookin' for your keys
While I snicker
Karmatic reputation

Look up in awe and wonder
Try to sit and ponder
What if it was you?
Never would I let this happen
To all of my friends
Gimme back, gimme back
The gun and run around

Look up, the sky is grey
So far, it's a dark day
Look up, the sky is grey
So far, it's the only way

Try to be my lightning rod
And don't forget that morning nod
So I'll know
Who to trust and who to rust
Shift, giddy-up, giddy-up
And never show your face again

I'll be up on the roof
Makin' sure you're in sight
Try to a walk a little slower
'Cause it ain't the middle of the night
Runnin' outta options
'Cause my hair is growin' thin
('Cause my hair is growin' thin!)

Look up, the sky is grey
So far, it's a dark day
Look up, the sky is grey
So far, it's the only way
