Evolve & Revolve

Evolve & Revolve

A Poem by Miles

The clouds went through the coin slot
Played the shame and won a lot
Crooked neon won't get off my lawn
Can't move backwards 'cause I'm a pawn

Leave me the rosebuds and cotton balls
Dive from high plastic and waterfalls
Don't forget to feed my mailbox
Storms, worms, and pale rocks

There ain't nothin' we can't do
One day, they'll say it was you
Givin' us turns to guess who
And there's always someone new

The window crushed a pinecone
Wore a mask and broke a bone
Left it out to dry and fry
Why I flew far off to cry

Give us a reason not to stay away
Like depressing, starving strays
Early predictions of so-called randosity
Sit and stare at the new monstrosities

There ain't nothin' we can't do
One day, they'll say it was you
Givin' us turns to guess who
And there's always someone new
