Drowning In My Ears

Drowning In My Ears

A Poem by Miles

A pot of coffee fell off my head
Broke my toe and burned me red
Went home and got some stitches
Came back and dug more ditches

The smell of rot filled my nose
Washed me off with a tire hose
Suddenly, I had to face my fears
While I was drowning in my ears

I can't hear a thing
At my eardrums I poke
All I hear is a noisy ring
While deaf and dumb I choke

In the shower with a bowl in my hand
I feel like I'm sinking in quicksand
While the water falls over my face
I need to get out of this place

How can you see
With soap in your tears?
How can you breathe
With water in your ears?
