Non-sequitur Cereal

Non-sequitur Cereal

A Poem by Miles

Breathless, darn breathless
I can't hold a thought so sticky and green
Runts be warned
I am indeed here to be mean

You chewed into this pestilence
Like it was a poison arrow!
Why, slit my wrists and call me Uncle Sam
You're making me leak bone marrow!

My job entails me to price and dice
Yet, here I am on the brim of a steaming bowl of oatmeal
And you're telling me
I should be eating cereal?!

If it wasn't for your effusive building blocks
And your cold, insidious gestures
I would be a flaming boat raft on the Mississippi
Unfortunately, the wood quickly festers

Come back at twilight
Noonway's yesterday
And you'll have your beaded apples
All that and Scrabbles

But don't expect a blind man's feast
Oh no!
This is your cancerous liver we're eating
With additional dragon seasoning
