To Dream of Magic

To Dream of Magic

A Poem by Miles

Determined
I strode on through the dark forest
Led only by the moonlight
Seeking more
A calling almost forgotten

The wind, the signs, the howls
It must've held meaning
Synchronizing to my hopeful wishes
Beckoning me to an ominous enclave

All was hushed abrubtly
As I arrived at this natural hollow

"Are you there?"
I knew it so instinctively

A looming shadow came to light
"Why are you here?" it asked

"The same reason we all come.
The same reason you came."

We disappeared
A flurry of surreal imagery
Flooded my eyes
As I was taken to another plane

The tornado landed us on an Irish cliffside
He looked out upon it
And knew what I had to do

I ran to the end and sprang forth
Towards the rocks and the waves
Only to glide serenely through the air

"You seem ready and willing
Can you leave everything behind
To be taken blind
On an endless journey into the mind?"

And so it began
At first with the Law
Then the Will
Then the Words

And it was all so spectacular
But the sky began to turn gray
Muffled footsteps sounded
And my Teacher turned to me and said,

"You won't forget
You won't remember
And you won't be able to use it
Until we meet again."
