Swansong For A Snowflake

Swansong For A Snowflake

A Poem by Miles

Goodbye, little snowflake
Barely known and short-lived
You were a unique little diamond with too much to give
But not enough wit to spread it

You were more than the average weirdo, my friend
You were as absurd as one might hope to be
Inventive and curious
Abused and mysterious

Unappreciated and over-estimated
Adventurous and ridiculous
And we had our times
Almost bell chimes

But here you are today
Another fable on the table
Laughing at your demise
With too much to say

Why can't we all be as whimsically rampant as you?
If only we hadn't so much ignorance and falacies
Perhaps there'd be more
Who'd be willing to make up rather than follow
Stay up rather than fall asleep
Improvise and stare at walls for enlightenment
Catharsize and make a psychotic statement

Goodbye, little snowflake
Rest in fantastic amazement and wonder
No longer immersed in deathly ponder
