We, The Americans

We, The Americans

A Poem by Miles

Just forget about that sad statue of innocence
We are the all-eating, all-seeing trash of the world
The overtaking, the overbearing
More than we should've, or hoped to
Way back in our happy days of ignorance

Tend to the rotten eggs of our 21st century idiocy
Free them from the ultimate delusion of gradiosity
Failure to inhibit such a falacy
Brings more than simple spoiling

We are the all-shadowed, the all-denying
The underlying brutality of an unwanting world
We are the all-buying, compulsively lying demons
And we grow and conquer,
To superbly define ourselves the best

We are the great censor, the world police of the desert
Striking out of bounds and demanding retribution
Following sick deeds and dying solutions

We, the Americans
The eagles of death warfare
The wraiths of restitution
Begging for bloody revolution
