Forevermore

Forevermore

A Poem by Miles

I will never be Edgar Allen Poe
And quoth the raven, "Nevermore"
Stitching, instead, a suitable stanza
Shouting from the tower, "Forevermore!"

More to be and more to see
More for you and more for me
More to touch and more to feel
More to kill and more to steal

You can't deny
The perceptively limitless sky
Or the dreams that fill it

You can't deny
The spirited life that flies on by
Or the men who bury it

Long-lived passion awaiting
Sometimes finding
At the end of a dark tunnel
Sometimes discovering
Right next door
Or right next to you

A universe of bespectacled madness
Unseen, untouched, unheard of
Resting just beyond your will to expand
And raising daisy chains of silted sand
