Escape From Reality

Escape From Reality

A Poem by Miles

Believing that we might be immersed in euphoria
If we allow ourselves to fall into a trance

Or transcend perception
By forgetting reality
And understanding impossible ideas

Believing that we can heal
Focusing on other things
Wedding rings
Paper skirts
And desperate flirts

Running errands for the wicked
Smoking f**s with slags
Donning capes and skates
While dishing danger
For the lone Ranger

Mask of sanity
Bleed all vanity

The emerald won't hide
Your reigning denial
The savage inside
Wills only survival
