Wraiths of Restitution

Wraiths of Restitution

A Poem by Miles

The awareness of your deficit
The judgement of your kin
The heralding of the absolute
And the constant deluge in sin

The wrathful pain we inflict
The grief and remorse that follow
The hate we purge in despair
And our ignorant, loathing stare

Are you better than me?
Tell me you're better than me
You're better than me?
You ain't better than me

Take off that shade of lies
So I can see that crying child
Lashed and hashed
And beat down, broken

Let it know that
Here's a soul
To feed off of
And bring back home

Wraiths of restitution
Keep up your evil evolution
We still see the mountain
Beckoning bloody revolution

Sit around and wait until
We climb
Laugh as we fall down and then
Hate ourselves

Bide the time by
Lying in our ears
Set the clock
And wake at dawn
