The Dr. Pepper

The Dr. Pepper

My throat screams parley

Pent-up relief beckons

I grasp for salvation,

Twist!

Pent-up fury unleashes --

My heart stops.

Calmness settles

My liberator breathes free.

Inspired by boredom in a modernist poetry class. I opened a Dr. Pepper and it almost fizzed up out of the bottle. Ergo, I wrote a poem about it.

I'm a huge fan of Dr.Pepper and happen to be drinking one at the moment. You're poem is the perfect accompaniment to a sip of Dr.Pepper :)
