a short verse

A Poem by Michael Anderson Burley

life's tincture bleeds and bleeds away,

rose petals slowly rust.

Drab offices all built in grey,

amidst the bones and dust.

To me this speaks about extinction which eventually leads to gradual death. I like the depth of this piece.

Nice rhyme, doesn't feel forced,
and such a profound piece,
even though short.

ASV paints a somewhat bleak picture of life.
It's brief but powerful which parallels how life
can sometimes be. Haunting..
