Broken Record

Broken Record

A Poem by Mikki Ciezki

She walks the same road

tells the same story

believes the same lie

hates the same routine.

She kicks the rocks

scribbles on the pages

begs for the truth

It's the only book she knows.

She's read the story

over and over,

knows it word for word.

Yet keeps flipping

the same old pages.

She wants, hopes

for change

for a better story

a happy ending.

Though,

if it weren't for this tragedy

she'd have no story at all.
