FlowingA Poem by Mike DefreitasElectric rope hanging Waiting for the words that will Capture it's glow Hidden from my freewheeling Hanging upside down from a ceiling Peeling; keeling; reeling Down below But now I've seen it's textured glow I can touch its vivacity And claim that I know The vastness and mystery of the ever-moving Flow Rivers, winds, oceans, streaming, moving, living All life and all things exist in flow Yet separated and apart; Still, we move with the flow; the flow moves through us And were brought along to wherever it goes Human thought and cognition, our embodied Moving, prereflective supposition; Exists within the movements of flow Being attached; concatenated psychologically My mind conceives of an object it calls "flow" I see it's patterns and it's mysterious quality All things exist in process; yet bothered by the presence of static dualities. The mind encounters psychic resistance Held in place by repetition; Neural substrates reproducing Molecular designs evolution commissioned Falseness; Thinking in "I" The body's differentness; yet in mind And In minds; communally connected in time All exist within a flow. We come in And our parents, unknowingly bring us up To know what they know; Continuity: The essence of flow On the other path; my interactions with the hiddeness within Psychic ropes dropped from heaven Allowing me to contemplate and feel The wondrous connections between mind and world. © 2014 Mike DefreitasFeatured Review
