I am Different

I am Different

A Poem by Mike Defreitas

I am different
It is hard for me
To explain myself
To you

A wall exists between me
And all others
I wouldn't even know
Where to begin

--------------

My mind shatters
When My body
Shudders

It shudders so hard
That my mind Clutters

--------------

Feelings are felt
And I Cease to be

Vacant Absence
A type of death

What Do I see
I don't think I see

----------------

A power so powerful
This is Life: My Life!

Yet you see a body
A man, or a boy?

His self, his identity
Lost in translation

The body stores
His ancient woes

-----------------

Can I ever?
Will it end?

Growth unknown
The now
suspends.....

another thought provoking piece that asks a lot of questions in self reflection of ways to explain to others what he is/ was/ will be/ can be..... how can one identify with something that isn't quite identified.. explain the unexplainable... how can you make the impossible possible without that explanation, the understanding... what do you see?... what do you think others see?.... if you don't know where you came from, where you are, how can you measure that growth? what is that wall, and why is it there?... what makes you shatter?... was it whole before it shattered?.... seems a little out of whack, a little disjointed, but thought-provoking nonetheless... well done...
