The Eternal Darkness

The Eternal Darkness

A Poem by Mike Defreitas

I can't see

I can't symbolize for me
What is me?

I am lost in the sea
Of a place where I can't be
Can't see
Where I am
I am lost in this fog of
Eternal chaos

The world "out there"
The other
The What?
The world
The eternal other

But me what am I?
Where do I fit in?
I am thinking
Seeking
Acting
From what?
Does this interest emerge?

The fog of beginnings.
The black hole of source.
Can't cognize
Can't think
The void swallows me up

Terrifying
I am losing
My hold
My way
Of building Order
Out of Chaos

The black death of midnight
The source of light
Of life,
The other

Blinded by the emptiness of
This eternal darkness
